Winter CSA Comes to Brooklyn!

While the weather outside might be frightful, access to fresh and local food over the winter months is delightful!
And so enters Full Plate Farm Collective from Ithaca NY, offering Brooklynites a winter vegetable CSA (community supported agriculture)! The pre-packed half bushel of vegetables will be available for pickup at the BIG!NYC-Gowanus reuse center on a biweekly basis, between January 12 & March 8, 2012.
The 2012 Winter CSA costs $160 for five boxes of certified organic vegetables, available for biweekly pickup over the course of 10 weeks.
A typical share includes:
- 2 lbs potatoes
- 2 lbs carrots
- 2 lbs onions
- 2 lbs other root vegetables
- 2 bunches of cooking greens
- 2 items such as brussels sprouts, winter squash, cabbage, kohlrabi, napa cabbage
- plus a farm treat! such as salad mix, baby spinach, pickled vegetables, apples or frozen green beans!
