In 2012 BIG!NYC:

* Donated over 57 tons of lumber to community & school gardens. That's 1,200 raised garden beds in NYC!
* Gave away $58,780 worth of materials to local organizations.

Background: 
Born spade in hand in a cave facing the raging Aegan Sea, Stephanos was put on this earth to compost. Catapulting off his Political Science Degree from Laverne University in California, he’s since found himself in a wide variety of unconventional work environments, the latest of which being Build It Green. From being a bike messenger and organic chef in New York City to a farming apprentice and working for Americorps abroad , Stephanos has never had a “normal” job. Since joining us at Build It Green, Stephanos has decided to occupy at least 6 separate areas of the Re-use center.. He’s kinda’ like the plague, but for compost. I mean that in the best possible way.
